Apartment Series 'Spirit of the Silver Forest'

From Nikki’s ‘Untamed Connection’ series, this image was captured deep in the wilds of northern British Columbia—home to one of the highest concentrations of grizzly bears in the world. After days spent quietly observing these powerful animals, this moment unfolded: a calm, direct gaze exchanged between bear and viewer, captured with care and respect.

Framed by the twisted remains of a fallen tree along the riverbank, the bear peers through a veil of whitewashed branches, their tangled forms echoing the textures of its thick pelt. Fir needles, tinted with soft blush tones, blur the boundary between landscape and life. There is strength here, but also stillness.

With a background in creative direction spanning 25 years, Nikki’s intention is always to tell a story.
