Alberta Wild

The Alberta foothills are one of the few places where truly wild horses still roam, shaped not by fences or schedules, but by the rhythm of the land itself. I travelled there to spend time with these remarkable animals, following them across open grasslands as the weather shifted with astonishing speed. In a single day I experienced warm sunshine, driving rain, fierce prairie winds, and fresh snow settling onto green summer grass. Watching the horses move calmly through each change was a quiet lesson in resilience and belonging. They never resisted the landscape. They simply existed within it. Rather than documenting wildlife alone, this expedition became an exploration of the relationship between freedom, adaptation, and our connection to the natural world. The photographs and mixed media works that emerged from this journey seek to capture not only the spirit of the horses, but the rare moments when nature reveals that opposing forces can exist together in perfect harmony.
